Islamic calendar is primarily used for religious purpose. It is also used for determining special days in Muslim countries. In Saudi Arabia, Islamic calendar is followed to date religious occasions such as Ramadan, Hajj etc. Exclusively for administrative purpose and daily government business, Saudi Arabia also follows Umm-al-Qura calendar.
