Dhu al-Qi’dah also known as Thou al-Qi’dahis the 11th important month of Islamic calendar. This month is regarded as one of the 4th most auspicious and sacred month of Islam. In Islam warfare is totally prohibited on Dhu al-Qi’dahmonth. Like other Islamic months this month also holds significance to Muslim community.

When is the Dhu al-Qi’dah in 2014?

Dhu al-Qi’dah will be observed on Wednesday, 27th August in 2014. This month will be started on Wednesday, 27th August and will end on Thursday, 25th September in 2014.

Why Dhu al-Qi’dah is Important?

Dhu al-Qi’dah month is important for some important Islamic events that occurred on this month. Dhu al-Qi’dah is especially important for “Hajj”. Hajj is the biggest and most important pilgrimage of Muslim community. For this event Dhu al-Qi’dah month is considered as one of the most important and sacred month of Islam.

How Dhu al-Qi’dah is observed?

There are no specific rules or ritual to observe the month of Dhu al-Qi’dah. Muslim communities of the world who can afford and are capable are recommended to observe Hajj and it is mandatory to them. Hajj is the one of 5 most important bases of Islam and in observing Hajj there are some specific rules which is need to be followed compulsorily.

1 Dhu al-Qi’dah

1 Dhu al-Qi’dah is important for two events which occurred on this month. First is the birth of important figure of Islam Bibi Masooma-e-Qom. She is the sister of the eighth Shiite Holy Imam named Imam Ali Riza, another important personality of Islam.

Second important event is the Peace Treaty of al-Hudaibiya was made between the Muslims and Mushrikeen.

8 Dhu al-Qi’dah

On 8 Dhu al-Qi’dah of 8 A.H Hajj was made obligatory upon Muslim community.

11 Dhu al-Qi’dah

On 11 Dhu al-Qi’dah the eighth Shiite Holy Imam and important figure of Islam Imam Ali Riza has taken birth.

23 Dhu al-Qi’dah

On 23 Dhu al-Qi’dah the eighth Shiite Holy Imam names Imam Ali Riza received martyrdom as per one tradition.

29 Dhu al-Qi’dah

On 29 Dhu al-Qi’dah the ninth Holy Imam and an important personality of Islam Mohammad Taqi al-Jawwad received martyrdom.
